What is homeopathy

Purposes of homeopathy

The purpose of homeopathy is to treat not some certain disease symptoms, but the whole body of a sick person. Thus, homeopathy is based on the holistic treatment of diseases. For a homeopath, the general condition of a patient and its mental aspects are extremely important.

The expert draws attention to the patient’s desire to heal certain symptoms. At the same time, he seeks to discover some other signs of various dysfunctions of the body, which the patient himself may regard as minor.

In homeopathy, it is assumed that a disease is a disorder or imbalance of the whole body. The patient’s diseases are based on his psychological and physical peculiarities. Homeopathic medicines should be consistent with both the symptoms of the disease, and with the patient’s characteristic features. Thus, for two patients suffering from the same disease, different pharmaceuticals can be offered in accordance with their individual features. In some cases, one and the same medicine will be used when treating dissimilar diseases.

Let like be cured by like.

Homeopathy is a form of treatment based on the principle of “let like be cured by like”. This principle was first voiced by the famous Greek physician Hippocrates. German physician Samuel Hahnemann in the early nineteenth century became interested in thoughts of Hippocrates. The doctor believed that the medical science of his time was rather harmful than helpful for those in need of healing. Hahnemann paid his particular attention to the fact that a small amount of quinine taken by a healthy person activated disease symptoms. Subsequent experiments made the doctor sure that the human body can resist the disease by “imitating” its symptoms.

Thus, a small amount of component causing the symptoms of a disease may be used in the treatment of patients. In the experiments, in which healthy people received small doses of different drugs, symptoms expression was registered. Subsequently, such diluted drugs were given to patients. Quite often, the results were very impressive.

Rules of Hahnemann

The rules defined by Hahnemann are key in homeopathy. Small doses of drugs are used in the treatment of various ailments.

The healing qualities of various components received from minerals and vegetables, become even stronger when diluted. Significant dilution reduces the proportion of additives, which affect the body and cause unpredictable side effects.

Experts came to the conclusion that the disease symptoms disappear in the order which is reverse to that of their manifestation. In other words, the signs, which appeared later, go away first.

Immediately after using the drug, the specialist notices some deviation in the state of health of a patient. Being a sign of healing, the crisis shows some changes in the patient’s condition and disappears very quickly. However, much depends on several factors such as the cause of the disease, the degree of neglect of the disease, the patient’s mood and medicine patent.

Homeopathic medicines do not harm health. They are not addictive. However, you must buy medicines in safe stores with the right to such activity.
